Portland Smart Park - A Portland Shopper's Friend

The Portland Smart Park is another very cool way that the city has devised to boost the downtown economy and make shoppers very happy.

Portland Smart ParkThis uniquely Portland program consists of 7 city-owned parking garages around the downtown Portland area that can house over 4,000 cars, altogether. The idea is to offer you very low parking rates that are near shopping, restaurants, and other places that you would entertain themselves.

You receive 2-hours of free parking from about 700 businesses with a qualifying $25 purchase in their stores. Go in, enjoy the time, buy some groovy stuff and get your parking validated. That just makes for a wonderful day. ;)

Here are the Portland Smart Park locations and their hours of operation:

Each garage varies a bit in rates, but you'll never pay more than $12 for a full-day of parking. The prices are about $3 per hour for longer Shopping in Portland Oregonterm-parking (over 4 hours), while short-timers (4 hours or less) will pay $1.25 an hour. Now, if you're used to parking in larger cities, you can appreciate the value in that.

The Rose City loves to keep locals and visitors coming back to the downtown area. This great way of parking in Portland Oregon is one of the many ways they do just that.
