Portland Oregon restaurants are so wide-ranging, that you can find anything you would ever want to eat in many different places.
One of my favorite things to do is try new and unique Portland Oregon restaurants throughout the Portland area. Now, I'm not the most extreme when it comes to experimenting with new types of food, but I do know what I like (seafood and Asian food ranks high on my list).
Finding Portland restaurants within my personal comfort zone is never a problem. I know, I know....I need to be more daring. I'm working on it. ;)
You may be just the opposite. You may be someone who always pushes the envelope when trying new foods. Whatever floats your boat! ;)
Portland Oregon restaurants offer the best eats for anyone: Japanese, Greek, Lebanese, Thai, Mexican, whatever. If you want it, you can find it in Portland. You will find prices ranging from the cheap to the extravagant and everything in between. Being frugal to a fault, I always have my handy-dandy Entertainment Book for the present year by my side. It just makes sense to me to save where I can.

The shiny Pearl District is a very cool place for going upper-class to enjoy a meal. I was down there recently with some friends and had a nice, big plate of calamari. That's squid, if you didn't know. Mmmmmm.
Anyway, I'd start in the Pearl District and work your way out, if I were you.
When you find a place that sounds good, depending on where you go, you can expect some great scenery and maybe a live show. When Portland feeds you, it holds nothing back! ;)

Another cool way of finding great places to eat in Portland is simply walk about and follow the crowds, not to mention your nose.
If you have a mobile device, like a smart phone or tablet, there are some terrific apps you can use for finding a nice place to eat in Portland.
Throughout the city, you'll run across pods of trailers that serve specialty cuisine to you in a flash. All types of food and great for taking lunch breaks from work or play.
Here's another idea: on the weekends, go over to the Portland Saturday Market and wander through the dozens of food booths. There's a place down there that has spring rolls that are to die for! I never leave without having at least one.
My son's friend stopped into the famous Stepping Stone Cafe one day so that he could take their 13" Mancake Challenge. See the results for yourself:
