Portland Has Friendly Homeless People

I enjoy walking to work in downtown Portland and meeting the hundreds of homeless asking for money. I now work two jobs so I can support them too.

Thanks Mayor Adams for being so friendly and inviting the poor and undocumented to live in this beautiful city.

NOTE: I understand your frustration, but where would you like them to live? Every city around the world has homeless, not just Portland.

Granted, there are always some bad apples that are schemers and scammers, but that's not always the case.

It's sad that anyone is homeless. Have you ever met a homeless and hungry child? And the poor? Do you know what it's like to be poor and to have nowhere to live? You really need some compassion and understanding.

I hope that you're not as cold and uncaring as you come off in this post.

Usually the only way people obtain some compassion for others is to walk a mile in their shoes. You may want to consider helping out for an entire day at the Union Gospel, Downtown Chapel, or Portland Rescue Mission and see exactly what some of these people go through. I've done it. There are actually people who did not ask for this. Consider it a dare. ;)

Karl’s frustration was so evident from this post. But, if he had given a thought about the way these poor people are living in this world, we are so lucky to have a shelter, job etc. And I really loved the way you have answered to it.
