Paris, The 80s Band, On Portland Television

by Steve Dixson
(Milwaukie, OR)

This was a local band in the early 80's that was filmed at Lung Fung on 82nd.

The band that was originally to be filmed was called Kashmir. When they filmed them, the people behind the camera did not take into account that it was for broadcast, not for live audience.

The footage came out too dark because they were being "artsy".

When Paris went on stage, the lighting engineer, who was familiar with television, turned up the lighting so that the footage would come out as it should.

The performance "live" was not their usual, but the cable show turned out awesome.

Don't know for sure but I think it was one of the first local bands on the air on cable.
