| More Portland fun? The Oregon Zoo Summer Concerts provide an excellent time of fun and music, right inside the gates of the Portland Zoo. Each summer, top artists from around the country stop in to say hi and entertain guests of the Oregon Zoo. A great day is made up of grabbing a blanket, riding our MAX light rail up to Washington Park, enjoying the many animal exhibits in the zoo and then hanging around after the gates close for some live music. | |  You can also get tickets at the Oregon Zoo office, by calling 1-800-745-3000, and any Ticketmaster outlet, or by ordering from Ticketmaster online. Pick one of the many concerts happening in the Zoo, claim your spot on the lawns and enjoy the show. If you want to show up early to enjoy other parts of the zoo, you're more than welcome to come in at 4:00pm and then stay for the shows, which begin at 7:00pm and tend to last from 2-3 hours. Here's a full schedule of the concerts at the Oregon Zoo. Bring some food along if you like, but leave beverages at home...there are places inside to grab liquid goodies. You can also get some very tasty meals inside the Zoo grounds, from Caesar salads to flatbread sandwiches to elephant ears and beyond. Yummy! ;) You should leave Fido and your cameras at home as well. Only assistance animals are  allowed in the park and there's no photos or video taking at the concerts...most acts have a real problem with people recording their shows, as you can understand. Since you'll be camping out on the lawns, if you decide to bring lawn chairs, make sure they are the low-back kind so that others can enjoy the concert, unobstructed. If you have a disability, the Zoo has you covered, so not to worry. Special seating and parking areas are made available for you. The Oregon Zoo Summer Concerts are a ton of fun, so don't miss out.
