I Should Have Listened To Tom
In 1986 I was in Tom Peterson's back office. It was very modest. I was about to begin my own business and he was counseling me.
The first thing he said is, "Don't worry about the price of your product. The market will set that. You really have no power. Be aware of what you pay for things. That's where a small business can get in trouble quickly."
Finally, he said, "Buy this stock. It's coming on the market in October of this year and I would put everything I have into it. It's coming on the market at $30 a share buy tens of thousands of dollars of it."
It was Microsoft.
He did and made a small fortune. I didn't. But I do have the story to share.
