I love Portland Oregon!!
Hi! My name is Tony Thomas and I run this here web site, pardna! ;)
Presently, I live in Vancouver, WA, just over the bridge about 7 miles away from my favorite city, Portland.
I was a talent for VIDBLOGGER NATION, a Social TV Network on Xfinity OnDemand Local. I have also worked as on Extra on the TNT show, "Leverage" w/ Timothy Hutton, presently with NBC's "Grimm," as well as a other television and commercial work around the area. Yup, I do have a fantastic amount of fun! ;)
I'm married and have a grown son, Isaac, and a wonderful daughter-in-law, Sunny. That's the crew, below, all ready to hop on Star Tours at Disneyland (I'm also a Disneyland and Disney California Adventure freak!)

I was raised in Milwaukie, Oregon and lived there until my parents divorced when I was 15 yrs old. I'm not exactly sure when I fell in love with Portland, but I did at a fairly young age. It's a city that just gives me warm fuzzies inside. I feel totally at ease no matter what area I'm in.

The people are great, the streets are clean and the city of Portland Oregon is always getting bigger and better. There is so much happening in the city of Portland EVERY SINGLE DAY, it's difficult to keep up and do it all.....but, it sure is fun trying! haha.
My wife and son are starting to really understand why I think Portland is so fantastic...the more they discover, the more they like it. I think that one reason I really enjoy Portland is that there is a lot to do and always something going on. I'm someone who thrives on variety, so the city seems to mesh well with my personality.
I built this web site because I wanted to share Portland with other people. I wanted to be able to say to the world, "Hey! Check out how cool my city is! It has so much to offer!" I knew that the Internet was a great way to get my message out.
How I Built My Portland Oregon Web Site
A service called Site Build It (SBI) gave me the avenue to share my love for Portland with you and others around the world.
My main goal, as I've said, is to share my passion for the city of Portland by creating a web site that would attract people to it, turn it into a small business, and make a living from it. I wanted to start a new chapter for my life and my family.
I used SBI to create my first site about the Oregon coast and it turned out great. At that point, the economy had already begun it's downturn and, before that, money had become a real issue. After working on that SBI web site for a while and seeing the results, I decided to take on another. I wanted to create multiple income streams so that I wasn't putting all my eggs into one basket. This Portland site is the result.
Some Ways I Make My Money
Here's some ways I fund my site and make my money. In a nutshell, I do it through affiliate relationships with individuals and other businesses. You may see links that direct you to another web site or service or product that I think may benefit you, my guest. For example, on my Portland Travel Guide page, I may recommend a local car rental service. Often times, I am an affiliate of theirs, meaning that, by going through that link and renting your car from them, I get a commission from it. The same goes for renting a hotel room, buying a book, etc.
Please know that any compensation does not influence the information I provide you here. I'm as honest as the day is long...it's just the way I roll. ;) I always give my truthful opinions, findings, beliefs, or experiences, which is what keeps Uniquely Portland Oregon.com so much fun for me. It's just icing on the cake when that information provides me some income along with giving you what you want or need. That chunk of change is simply what keeps the site up and the lights on where I live (my wife really likes when the rent is paid! hehe.)
On the other hand, any "Ads by Google" are not selected by me, so if you see a Google ad and a web page about the same product or service, it is a coincidence. Just FYI.
Please do support my sponsors and recommendations. This site takes time and effort to deliver original content, free, to you. Supporting my sponsors is a WIN-WIN-WIN for you, me, and them. Thank you very much.
Anyway, that's my story and now you understand a little more about why I love Portland Oregon and how this whole web site thing works for me. Thanks for coming and I hope you enjoy your stay. Feel free to drop me a line if you'd like on my Contact Me page.
Regards,

P.S. - I also have a couple YouTube channels, here and here, if you're interested in seeing what my life is like now that I work from home, creating and managing my web sites, playing around the Portland area, and more...cool beans! ;)
