Need to find something? Craigslist Portland Oregon is a really terrific place to go. You can find just about anything your heart may desire at just about any price, clear down to absolutely free. It's a virtual potpourri of products and services that you filter by counties in the Portland area.
I've always found Craigs List to be quite the anomaly. Poorly designed, strangely named, but one of the most useful sites on the Internet. I've found free furniture, searched for apartment rentals in Portland, and even looked for jobs on the web site. And since it's local to you, you don't need to worry about shipping if the seller is right around the corner from you. Even big ticket items like homes and vehicles can be bought and sold there.
If you want to, you can sell your own stuff on the Portland Craigs List. Simply sign up for a free account, read the policies and rules (not abiding by their rules is a good way to get your post de-listed), drill down by county if you choose and then post. You can even add photos if you need to.
If you're into working online like I am, there are ways to leverage Craiglist to help you make money. I've used it in this way for a good numbers of years now and it's very effective.
There are a bazillion people who check into Craigslist Portland Oregon every day, so it's a fantastic free marketplace to take part in. As I said though, it's pretty clumsy to use and takes some getting used to. Here are a few Craigslist tools that people have created to make using the Portland Craigslist easier to use.
SearchTempest is one of my favorite tools to use. Much more attractive and easier to use than the raw Craigs List. You can search by distance from your location, so you're no longer isolated to an area. Give it a try. I think you'll really like it.
Pictures make an impact on me and I may end up deciding to buy or not, depending on the photos or lack thereof. If I'm looking for something to buy from Craigslist Portland Oregon, I like to see a photo. You can't do that until you click through to the actual post. ByeByeList is a mash-up tool that puts all the listings you've searched for in an eBay-looking setting. Much nicer to view the photos as you simply run down the listings.
There is a fantastic little web browser extension called Craigslist Helper for Google Chrome, Safari, and Mozilla Firefox (sorry, Internet Explorer people!) that gives Craigslist users a whole new experience when browsing.
Craigslist Helper allows you to preview text and images of ads without having to click them, you can bookmark ads, add notes to ads, and a lot more. This is a wonderful tool!
There are other tools and web sites out there that make searching and finding much easier, but those are a couple of my favorites.
Just as an FYI, there a some personal and adult type categories on Craigslist, so you will want to monitor any children using it. They've been good enough to get rid of some of the more, shall we say, legally questionable stuff, but there still exists an element of advertising that young eyes (in my personal opinion, ANY eyes) do not need to see.
If you've never been on Craigslist before, you're really missing out on a great resource for finding and selling anything and everything in Portland Oregon and beyond.
