Christmas in Portland is an exciting time for everyone. The downtown areas are all decorated with millions of twinkling lights, holiday events are happening from Thanksgiving through January, and the stores are busier than ever.
You know that Christmas in the NW has officially kicked when they have the Pioneer Courthouse Square Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony. Another very popular Portland Christmas tradition is attending the annual America's Largest Christmas Bazaar. The festivities begin the day after Thanksgiving at the Portland Expo Center and run for two solid weekends: November 26-27-28 and Dec 3-4-5. The Lights on Peacock Lane is a tradition for many Portland families. Expensive houses all dolled up in Christmas lights and props run down the streets of SE Stark St. and SE Belmont St. and one block east of SE 39th.
